Calcium Nitrate Water Soluble Fertiliser

The backbone of almost every professional hydroponic feed. Calcium nitrate is the go-to soluble source of calcium, and it delivers fast-acting nitrate nitrogen at the same time. If you grow in hydroponics, coco or under fertigation, this is the product that keeps cell walls strong, growth vigorous and fruit free of calcium disorders.

What it does for your plants

• Builds strong cell walls: calcium is the structural element in every new cell, which means sturdier stems, tougher leaves and better resistance to stress and disease.
• Prevents calcium disorders: blossom end rot in tomatoes and peppers, tip burn in lettuce and leafy greens, and distorted new growth are all classic signs of calcium shortage.
• Drives lush green growth: over 90% of the nitrogen is in the nitrate form, which plants take up quickly and which does not compete with calcium uptake the way ammonium-heavy fertilisers can.
• Fully water soluble: dissolves fast and clean for reservoirs, drippers, fertigation and foliar feeding.

Signs your plants need it

• Calcium deficiency: twisted, curled or stunted new growth, brown or rust coloured spots, weak stems, flowers dropping early, blossom end rot and tip burn.
• Nitrogen deficiency: pale green to yellow leaves starting from the bottom of the plant, slow growth and few new shoots.

How to use

Dissolve fully in water before use and always measure EC. For reference, every 1 gram per litre of water adds 155 ppm nitrogen and 190 ppm calcium, and 0.5 g per litre adds about 78 ppm nitrogen and 95 ppm calcium. Adjust your dose to your crop, growth stage and base nutrient.

• Hydroponics and coco: add to your reservoir, then adjust pH.
• Soil, pots and garden beds: dissolve and apply as a drench, or use as a side dressing and water in well.
• Works with Hydroflow: Hydroflow Hydroponic Nutrient is designed to be used together with calcium nitrate to form a complete feed.

Important mixing rule

Never mix calcium nitrate in concentrated form with sulphates or phosphates (for example Epsom salts, potassium sulphate, MKP or a concentrated base nutrient such as Hydroflow). The calcium reacts and drops out of solution as a solid. In a two tank system calcium nitrate always goes in Tank A on its own side. Once diluted in your final reservoir it is perfectly fine to combine.

Store sealed in a cool, dry place. Calcium nitrate absorbs moisture from the air, so close the bag properly after each use. Packaging may vary.
