DIY Beginner Hydroponic Starter Kit 2.0

What if I told you there was a way to grow plants quicker, larger and using only 5% of the water normally required.

Most people would assume this is impossible.

And yet, hydroponics allows you to do just this.

Hydroponics is a technique for growing plants without soil, using only water, a nutrient solution and a medium to hold the plants in place. Although various forms of water culture have been practiced for several thousand years, it is only in the last 100 years that the science behind hydroponics has been more fully understood.

This has enabled both domestic and commercial growers to cultivate plants in new ways that have particular advantages and disadvantages.

This DIY Beginner Hydroponic Setup will provide you with the basics required to begin your Hydro journey.

Terra Aquatica TriPart Starter Kit (included)

The Terra Aquatica TriPart Starter Kit consists out of 3 x 500ml bottles of the Terra Aquatica (T.A.) TriPart mineral nutrient range, formerly know as the GHE Flora Series. (Story HERE)

The Terra Aquatica TriPart Starter Kit also includes a 25 gram sachet of T.A. pH- Powder.

There is a choice between a ‚ÄúSoft Water Kit‚ÄĚ or a ‚ÄúHard Water Kit‚ÄĚ, with the difference being the type of TriPart Micro that is included in the kit.

Use the TriPart Hard Micro for water with more than 70 mg/L Calcium, or water with higher concentrations of trace minerals. Hard water is mostly found in Gauteng, or when using borehole water.

Use the TriPart Soft Micro for water with less than 70 mg/L Calcium, or if using reverse osmosis (R.O.) water. Water along the country‚Äôs coastal regions and rainwater is mostly soft water.T.A. TriPart ‚Äď The original 3-part advanced nutrient system for hydroponics, coco and soil:

Why buy grow nutrients, bloom nutrients, a CalMag snd a PK, when you can grow from start to finish with just three bottles?!

TriPart nutrients allow you to perfectly match the changing needs of your plants by varying the mix as your grow progresses: more TriPart Grow during growth, and more TriPart Bloom for flowering and fruiting: simple and incredibly effective by design.

Many nutrients claim to include everything that your plant needs for healthy growth, but unlike most competitors, the TriPart includes not just the primary and secondary nutrients necessary for basic plant nutrition, but a full range of micro and sub-micronutrients as well, and every possible element is chelated for enhanced uptake and stability. This is why TriPart delivers such impressive and reliable results in specialist markets where enhanced flavour, aroma, potency, and essential oil production are vital.

TriPart is available with hard or soft water formulations of TriPart Micro to ensure that calcium levels in your nutrient solution remain optimal preventing the lockout / deficiency problems that universal nutrients can provoke.

TriPart Micro (5-0-1)

Available in Hard or Soft water composition, TriPart Micro is the foundation of the ‚Äúbuilding- block‚ÄĚ system, providing micro and sub-micro nutrients and some complementary macro-nutrients. Use TriPart Micro as directed all the way through growth and bloom.

TriPart Grow (3-1-6)

Stimulates structural and vegetative growth, builds strong roots and provides the majority of the nitrogen, potassium and secondary minerals in TriPart. Use higher levels in growth, and lower levels in flowering.

TriPart Bloom (0-5-4)

Provides the forms of phosphorus and potassium that your plants need to increase root formation and health during growth, and help fulfil their genetic potential to the maximum during flowering and fruiting. Use lower levels in growth, and higher levels in flowering.

How to use:

Here are the steps on how to use the Hydroponics Starter Kit:
1. You will take your rockwool and put it in a shallow tray of water and let the rockwool absorb the water.
2. Once the rockwool is completely wet, you will take your seeds/ seedlings and plant them into the rockwool. Never let the rockwool go dry.
3. Once you start seeing roots through the rockwool, you will take that seedling that is in your rockwool and transfer it into the netpots that were provided. You must fill the remaining space in the netpot with LECA.
4. You then put the netpots with your seedlings into your hydroponic system.
The nutrient feeding chart is attached below.
